Hello, world
A first post. What this site is, and what it isn't.
I'm Kris. I write this because the work compounds and the thinking doesn't, unless you write it down.
I build software for a living, and I manage the engineers who build it. I have led teams at different sizes and different stages of a company. Shipping is the thing that matters to me, and writing is how I stay sharp about how to do it well.
This site is where those notes live. Expect short observations pulled straight from the work, honest takes on the tradeoffs I am actually sitting with, and the occasional longer piece on trust, ownership, and how teams stay proactive when the noise gets loud. Short is the default here, and longer only when the idea earns it.
You will not find hot takes I have not thought through, corporate polish, or carefully hedged opinions. The posts here are written to be useful, not to sound smart.
One rule runs through all of it: we ship rough before we ship perfect. That applies to writing too. If an idea is real and useful, it goes up, and I sharpen it in public from there.
More soon.
